Student Stipends

As usual, for 2023 we have various sources of stipends for students: The general fund for RWC stipends (which is provided from the generous support from our sponsors and a fund set up from a donation by Eric Rescorla). We also have funds provided by the NSF for US citizens or students enrolled as a student at a US institution. The funds will be administered by our Scholarship Secretary (Mariana Raykova).

Requests can be made after December 15th, but they will not be considered until after the initial support decisions are made. All requests must be accompanied by a short email from the PhD supervisor that supports and justifies the request; plus a statement from the applicant as to why they deserve an award to attend the conference. Applicants should be aware that we do not usually fund all of an awardees attendance costs. Thus an applicant is likely to also need to supplement the funds from other sources.

We strongly encourage women and members of other historically under-represented groups to request support.

Please indicated if you are a US citizen or a student enrolled at a US institution in your application.

The award will usually cover the cost of registration, and a limited amount of travel and hotel costs. The exact amount being dependent on the rough distance from Amsterdam of the applicant.

Please contact Mariana Raykova to request. Ensure your email has the subject heading "Real World Crypto Stipend Request".
